2010 Programming

The Loto-Québec Big Top is the place to be to see all the fabulous shows. Well known artists as well as the best groups pay tribute to Quebec. Rain of shine, 2500 sheltered places await the fans! Keep up the fun at the illuminated terrace. The best of our local groups will have you signing the night away!

Marathon

The great open water marathon is what La Traversée is all about. Each year, the best international athletes join in to compete in the 34 km swimming event. For these swimmers this is without doubt a unique experience where raw emotion is at a peek.

Exhibitors' village

Sixty-five kiosks form a unique diversified village made up of artists, craftsmen, merchants and local producers. About 20 professional painters at the open air painting symposium in the Painters’ Agora catch your eye with all the colours of the rainbow, designs and ideas, to the greatest pleasure of all visitors.

Children's place

Guaranteed fun! Inflated games, train rides, mascots, make-up and let’s not forget the Cirque des Étoiles de Magog!

Sport events

La Traversée has many sport events. The Amateur Swimming Event : 500m, 1 km, 2 km, 5 km and 10 km. The Memphré Tykes Swimming Event where kiddies from 2 to 11 can join in all safety in their own swimming competition. The Canoe Classic on Magog river and the Sailboat competition are other favorite events

Stars and rhyme under the Loto-Québec Big Top

The Traversée is proud to have 3 stars from the Festival of Québec under the Big Top: Rick Hughes, staring in the Legends of Rock on opening night, Friday, July 24; the famous Porn Flakes, with special guests stars Eric Lapointe, Elizabeth Blouin-Brathwaith, Patrick Bourgeois, Lulu Hughes, Martin Fontaine from Elvis Story, Suzie Villeneuve, Too Many Cooks, Fred Lebel. Last year, the Porn Flakes amazed a crowd of over 2000 people. The Big Top was packed full. Also, Marie-Chantal Toupin, the rock diva in Quebec, will be on stage Friday, July 31. Three major events will take place, rain or shine, in a unique atmosphere for only $10 per person. Don’t miss it. Get your tickets ahead of time, places are limited (2 500 places at the most). Buy on line in the section BUY A PACKAGE or at the Metro Plouffe in Magog and also at the head office of La Traversée.

 

Hold on to your hats! The best groups will be performing under the Loto-Québec Big Top; Rock the Beach on Saturday, July 25; the grand hard rock event with two groups, Hommages à Rush and Hommage à Métallica (Misery), Tuesday, July 28. On Thursday, July 30, Grease fans will be thrilled. Put on your dancing shoes and come and join us. Saturday, August 1st, don’t miss the best tribute to U2 with Popmart and U2 Story.

 

Something new this year: Experience the terrace evening under the stars

Don’t miss free events under the stars at the illuminated terrace, with an outside stage. Local talent will amaze you; Les Mecs Trios, Watts up, The Sunshine Band, Les 2 Frères, Alive, Danny C. Band, Belly Trio, Y.P.D., Steve Forget. Come down and dance to the rhymes of rock, pop, disco, retro and more…
